Our Brief
To develop and implement a Community and Stakeholder Engagement program for the duration of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process to keep the community and stakeholders informed about the project and the various stages of the EIS process.
Our Approach
To foster community advocacy and achieve a successful consultation process during the EIS for the Project, the following was required:
- active engagement with community members, stakeholders and directly affected landholders;
- timely release of information and marketing materials in-line with EIS timeframes and schedules;
- comprehensive issues management with government departments, the media, landholders and other interested parties;
- a comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement strategy that could change and adapt;
- effective processes and methods of communication; and
- management of a comprehensive project database.
Our Outcome
The overall EIS process for the project is still ongoing. Therefore, a final evaluation of the project is yet to be undertaken. However, through the consultation and engagement activities that have been carried out and through comments received from conducting surveys, the project has received no adverse feedback from any stakeholders since implementation of the project.
